Description

Wreath of myrtle leaves with a multi-petalled blossom in the centre. Myrtle wreaths, which were common in many regions, especially of Macedonia and southern Italy, alluded to Aphrodite, Demetra and Persephone, goddesses of fertility and vegetation. Gold wreaths mostly imitate natural branches, leaves and flowers from olive trees, myrtle and oak and ivy.
